PAST PROJECTS

Moms 'n Tots:
For several years, the club provided financial support and hands-on service to the Southeast Ministry program that assesses women in welfare who are studying to pass their GED exam, and who intend to pursue college education. The Club also organized and financed the Graduation Banquet, which had an attendance of 50 to 100 guests. Club members cooked and served the food.

In 1999, a year long book drive among members helped collect books for participants of Moms 'n Tots.

Environment:
Members of the Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. participated in a variety of environmental projects. As an example, members helped staff the booth of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at the Sailboat Show and the Powerboat Show, both celebrated in Annapolis, Maryland, in October 2000.

Educational Materials:
Donation of educational materials to the Alice Deal Jr. High School for possible use in an "out of debt program."

Children of 9/11 victims:
Distribution of 97 Good Bears of the World to children of the 9/11 Pentagon victims.

Suited for Change:
Donations to Suited for Change, an organization helping women returning to work. Members donated cloth and volunteered in the sorting and inventory of collections.

Food donation:
Donation of food to Martha's Table following the Art Auction.
